Gearbox Design

In a course offered by the name of machine design, the knowledge of standard machining is coupled with a project, specifically the design of a gearbox for a small vehicle. Information on standard design practice, gear mechanics and specifications and more was put into optimizing the torque and the rotational speed outputs of the vehicle by implementing a shifting mechanism. The gearbox didn't quite turn out as expected, as its design had a few flaws. This failure served as a good reminder to leave enough time to double and triple check my work, and I have only grown from the experience.
