Queen's Racing

My passion for dynamic systems and problem solving led me to join the Queen's Racing design team. At Queen's Racing, we design, build, and race a formula car to compete in university competitions across North America. My core interest of finding out and understanding "how things work" fit best with the powertrain team, which strives to optimize the power output of the engine and drive systems. In the near future we plan on switching out our engine for an EV battery, a process which aligns with my environmental interests. The powertrain work is backloaded when considering the build timeline, so I took on some extra responsibility by preparing the wheels, a job that is necessary for the team but doesn't fall under any of the subsections. While waiting for the construction of the frame to finish, I did research on the powertrain subsection as a whole, specifically how to improve post-production engine performance. Once the prerequisite construction is completed, I will begin the installation and tuning of the engine and driveline so that once our car hits the track, we will have the best performance possible.
